The bronze statue is reminder of all the orphan children that arrived in WA as immigrants from WA. We had the pleasure of meeting one of them who lives just around the corner from us. He and his wife invited us in for a cuppa after we had been chatting for while as we were out walking the dogs past their house. He is a Scott who was shipped over here when he was about 9. They were a very interesting couple and their buildings out the back were a bit like a history museum. He had made a sound proof concert room out of half of his workshop with a couple of rows of seats,so he could put little concerts on for people. He sings mainly country music and has made quite a few CD's. He is a cabinet maker and his workshop was marvel with tools and gadgets galore. A very interesting day!

We had a day trip out on the Shotover Catamaran. This broke the Australia to New Zealand crossing time a while back - well so they told us. Posted by Picasa
